Anti-Ragging

The provisions in the ‘UGC Regulations on curbing the menace of ragging in higher educational institutions, 2009’ are strictly followed in IIAT, Thuraiyur. An ant-ragging committee has been constituted as given in the table below. This committee has been empowered to keep round the clock strict vigilance both in the college and hostel premises. Any violation in the form of organizing or participating directly or indirectly in ragging or any such activities either in the campus or outside the campus which in the provisions of UGC Regulations is not a good conduct and behaviour and this would bring discredit to the institution. Those found guilty will be expelled from the hostel and/or the college concerned after a through discussion in the anti-ragging committee meeting.

The last College level Anti-ragging meeting was held on 23.02.2021 under the chairmanship of the Principal IIAT, Thuraiyur .The meeting started at 03.45 p.m. in the Imayam Institute of Agriculture and Technology campus. The following members were present.

The details of the meeting is as follows
  1. The Deputy Warden welcomed the Chairman, Members and the participating students. The Principal sensitized the students about ragging and the punishment for the students involved in ragging. He also explained about the ‘UGC Regulations on curbing the menace of ragging in higher educational institutions, 2009'. The Head Constable of Musiri Women Police Station, Mrs.A.Kanagambaram explained to the students how ragging is a punishable crime. She has also explained about usage of ‘Kavalan App’ ( an APP developed by Tamil Nadu Police) that help students on emergency situations. She has also provided her contact phone and police station help line number and encouraged students to contact police at any time for help.
